The Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has launched a new Plan for National Parks and a programme of activity to safeguard the future of these iconic landscapes.  The new “Plan for National Parks” is looking at how best to engage young people throughout their education and looking to ensure that over 80,000 primary school aged children visit the National Parks incorporating National Parks in their curriculum.  Studies have found that only 10% of children have access to outdoor learning and this initiative has been announced by Environment Secretary Elizabeth Truss to readdress the balance with all school children now visiting our National Parks.
