By far our most popular type of safety surfacing is Playtop® wet pour which is Europe’s leading wet pour brand. Pennine are a Licensee for the Playtop® brand in the North of England and our wetpour is installed by our own professionally trained teams of installers to exacting standards.

Playtop Ltd pioneered the UK wet pour market with its first installation in 1977 and nearly 30 years later it is installed worldwide with many international partners – a testament in itself of its unrivalled quality. Inspiring and exciting brightly coloured graphics can be incorporated into your Playtop® surface to bring additional play value for minimal additional cost.

Nike Grind™ - Creating a new life for old sports shoes

Playtop with Nike Grind™ has proved to be an enormous success since its launch in the Spring of 2005. Many schools and Councils have been attracted by the fantastic story and the significant environmental benefits of Playtop with Nike Grind™. The multi-coloured fleck is recycled from the rubber used in old sports shoes at specialist plants to produce a rubber granulate, which in turn is incorporated into the black wet pour, resulting in the unique finish of Playtop with Nike Grind™.

The first installation was at Manchester United Football Club to the surround of the pitch and the Players’ Walkway.

Without a doubt, our preferred safety surfacing is Playtop® wet pour – it is clean, maintenance free, environmentally friendly, and of course offers compliance with the BSEN1177 safety standards. However, on occasions our customers ask us to provide alternative surfacing options, which are all available in compliance with BSEN 11177. The following options are available:
