A recent survey by the Forestry Commission found that 84 percent of 1,300 parents said their under 10 year olds preferred to play outdoors over using games consoles, tablets or watching TV. According to 76 percent of parents asked, traditional outdoor past-times are still important and play a major part in their children’s experiences and 88 percent of children are said to be playing outdoors for more than five hours per week.
