Maintenance and Inspection of your Play Areas
Having invested a considerable amount of time and effort, not to mention valuable funds into your play area, it is important to ensure that it stays in tip-top condition.
Your play area will have been designed and installed in accordance with BSEN1176. The next step is to ensure that it is maintained in accordance with these standards.
Whilst it is the responsibility of the Owner/Operator to implement a safety management system for the playground, our After Sales Team can guide you through the requirements. We can offer various levels of help and support – from providing you with all the necessary documents, through to carrying out the various inspections and documentation on your behalf.
It is a bit like servicing your car – we can offer a simple MOT through to a full service and valet!
Here's how it works...
The following inspections are required to conform with BSEN Standards, therefore ensuring that any guarantees offered on your play area are valid:
Visual Inspection -
Usually carried out by the Owner/Operator on a weekly basis, checking for obvious hazards such as broken parts, vandalism etc.
Operational Inspections - Usually carried out every 1 to 3 months, checking the stability of the kit and operational issues.
Annual Main Inspection - Checking overall level of safety of kit, foundations and surfaces e.g. Compliance with the relevant part of the BSEN1176.

Maintenance Service Support Packages
- Regular Annual Support (4 inspections per annum)
- 3 Operational Inspections every 3 months
- Annual Main Inspection with written report
- Up to 1 hour of bolt tightening and basic remedial actions within each Operational Inspection
- Full written reports
- Premium Annual Support (4 inspections per annum)
- Provision of LOG BOOK to record all maintenance matters
- Provision of templates for your Visual Inspections
- First Operational Inspection accompanied with your Site Manager to explain recording and inspection requirements
- 2 Operational Inspections
- Annual Main Inspection with written report
- Up to 1 hour of bolt tightening and basic remedial actions within each Operational Inspection
- Full written reports
All inspections will include a detailed quotation of any recommended remedial actions with proposed timescales and an assessment of risk where appropriate.
